The Edmonton Oilers will play the next three games without superstar captain Connor McDavid after the NHL suspended him for cross-checking Vancouver Canucks winger Conor Garland on Saturday.

Connor McDavid will be eligible to return from his three-game suspension when the Edmonton Oilers play host to the Seattle Kraken on Monday night. McDavid received the ban from the NHL for crosschecking the Vancouver Canucks' Conor Garland in the head late in a game on Jan.

This is not the first time that McDavid has faced disciplinary action. He served a two-game suspension in February 2019 for a hit to the head on then-New York Islanders defenseman Nick Leddy. Additionally, he was fined $5,000 in March 2021.
