MONTREAL -- Patrik Laine scored at 3:20 of overtime for the Montreal Canadiens, who trailed four times before rallying for a 5-4 win against the New York Rangers at Bell Centre on Sunday.

The Rangers are in no position to be whiffing on winnable games. A season-best point streak that reached eight games Sunday night, after a 5-4 overtime loss to the Canadiens, is not nearly enough to erase the damage of the Blueshirts’ awful stretch from the end of November through December.

Artem Zub and Zack Ostapchuk each scored a goal and Anton Forsberg stopped 25 shots to lead Ottawa to a win over New Jersey. Zub snapped a 1-1 tie in the third period with his second goal of the season.
