Jason Aldean is sharing his support for Carrie Underwood after her performance at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration ceremony, where technical difficulties led to the American Idol winner delivering a rendition of “America the Beautiful” a cappella.

Before he got going with the performance at the Liberty Ball, Aldean told the crowd that Trump called him and let him know that he believed in the message of “Try That In A Small Town” as the country star was in the midst of fighting off the outrage:
