The Los Angeles Angels added to their infield depth Friday, reportedly agreeing to terms on a new contract with a former New York Mets infielder.
The Angels will be Davis’s fifth team in two years. Those teams include the San Francisco Giants, the then-Oakland A’s, the Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles. The Yankees acquired Davis after Anthony Rizzo broke an arm last June to play first base against left-handed pitching. The plan was for him to share time at first with rookie Ben Rice.
