The Grade A shots in the game were 16 for Edmonton, eight for the Caps, with the subset of 5-alarm shots six for the Oilers, five for the Caps.
Tom Wilson, Matt Roy and Pierre-Luc Dubois scored and Logan Thompson made 30 saves during a 3-2 win over the Connor McDavid-less Oilers.
Tuesday evening the Washington Capitals will launch their five-game road trip with their first stop in the City of Champions, taking on the Edmonton Oilers.  Puck drop is slated for 9 pm ET
