The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging people to stay safe while having fun participating in outdoor winter activities after they rescued a man from a snowmobiling crash Wednesday night .

Recently, an alarming trend has emerged on Michigan's highways: non-emergency vehicles using emergency vehicle turning lanes to bypass traffic.

Deputies said a driver failed to yield for another motorist, hitting the vehicle and causing it to crash into a business.

On Wednesday, the shelter's work vehicles were not able to leave the building due to the snow. Additionally, the shelter needs their walkways cleared.
